Description

Meet Nodum, an organization system that transforms an iconic everyday object into a clever, tactile entry routine. Inspired by classic clothing buttons, this keychain and wall mount system injects a playful sense of touch into your daily movements. The keychains feature an engineered, free-rotating inner core detailed with cross-stitched threads that spin smoothly against the outer ring, giving you a satisfying, fidget-friendly kinetic movement while on the go.

The true utility of Nodum is revealed when you return home. The dedicated wall mount acts as a permanent docking station, offering a clean, uniform home for your keys. Available in a modular range of variants—from a single-slot holder up to a 6-slot family rail—the system scales perfectly to your space. The back of the mount features a precise, built-in cutout designed for double-sided mounting tape up to 15mm in width, allowing it to sit perfectly flush against your wall without any awkward gaps.

The entire button keychain is optimized as a clever print-in-place design, requiring absolutely no assembly out of the box—just print it, pop the inner core free, and it's ready. To ensure the precise mechanical tolerances function perfectly and the inner core spins completely unobstructed, it is crucial to print the file at a 0.08mm layer height as configured in the project settings.

Tailored for Color

Nodum is optimized for personal expression, offering both single-color and dual-color printable versions for the button keychains. This separate component architecture allows you to easily mix and match your filaments, contrasting a vibrant pastel center against a neutral outer ring to assign a distinct look for every set of keys in your household. It is a design that turns a routine habit into a playful interaction, ensuring you always know exactly where your journey comes to rest.

I deeply follow and admire the projects on MakerWorld: design and functionality are a source of inspiration. However, I would like to report a technical issue with the button file. I printed it in PETG and the print takes almost 4 hours; I notice, however, that the filament change occurs immediately after the first layers, while the seam is only visible on the surface. This unnecessarily extends the time without improving the finish. I suggest moving the filament change to the last layers or indicating the recommended Z-height; alternatively, provide an optimized G-code or explanations if the early change has a structural reason. I hope the feedback is useful: I appreciate the work and share it in a constructive spirit

I feel like airtag version of those would break a bank for some of us. What do you think, is it possible?
