Description
This is a highly versatile, modular mounting system designed to solve the problem of finding a rugged, track-compatible mount for Garmin Echomap and Striker chartplotters on kayaks.
Unlike universal mounts that are often "almost" compatible, this design was engineered specifically for Garmin interfaces and rugged marine environments. Compatible with ALL Printers.
NOTE There is a pause for you to insert the M5 captive nut for use with the Echomap/Striker 7 or 9 units. If you do not need this nut, select the profile for the Striker 4 CV.
Key Features and Compatibility:
- Modular Mounting Options:
- T-Track Compatible: Designed to work flawlessly with standard kayak gear tracks using 1/4"-20 T-track bolts. (Use the central slot or the outside slots for positioning flexibility).
- Flat Surface Mount: The rectangular base flanges feature four 1/4" holes for direct hard-mounting to any flat surface.
- Dual Garmin Compatibility:
- Garmin Striker 4CV: Can be installed using no internal hardware, directly engaging the base. (Requires only the external T-track bolts or surface mount screws).
- Echomap & Larger Striker (7/9): These units use a different tilt-mount base requiring internal capture. I have designed this model to include a pre-configured internal M5 nut pocket. Utilize the Pause at Layer feature in your slicer to embed an M5 hex nut during the print (as shown in the images).
Recommended Print Material:
This model was designed with specific material tolerances in mind for extreme outdoor conditions.
- Primary Recommendation: ASA-CF (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate - Carbon Fiber). This provides exceptional UV resistance, high-temperature stability (essential for sunny days on the water), and maximum rigidity for large units.
- Secondary Option: PETG. Suitable for general use, but lacks the extreme UV resistance and rigidity of ASA-CF.
