Born from the head of Zeus fully armed. Even childbirth, it seems, had a strategy.
Athena, goddess of wisdom, war strategy, and arts, patroness of Athens, favorite daughter of Zeus, enters the Greek series of Gods & Legends with the figurine most laden with mythological attributes of the entire collection: a model where every element tells a precise story. 🦉
The most spectacular element is the round shield: the surface is dominated by the face of Medusa, the Gorgoneion, sculpted in high relief with serpentine hair radiating from the center. It is Athena's Aegis, the most feared defensive weapon of Olympus. ✨
On her right shoulder rests the owl, the symbol par excellence of wisdom: compact, with slightly open wings, it balances the vertical composition and adds an immediate narrative element for anyone familiar with mythology.
The Corinthian helmet with the long lophos (the crest) rises above her head like a warrior's crown, identifying Athena at a glance even without the rest of her armor. 🏛️
In her left hand, she holds the spear (dory) in a diagonal position, while the complete armor with pteryges, greave, and pauldron faithfully recalls the aesthetic of classical Greece. 💡
The base is the richest in architectural elements of the Greek series: fragments of Doric columns emerge on both sides, like remnants of a temple over which the goddess is still watching. The Greek meander band closes the composition with visual coherence. 🎲
