Description

UPDATE: I added a profile using a .16mm height, changed walls, flushing, and infill along with adding normal supports instead of tree.

This is Blue from Rainbow Friends. I printed him at 20% infill, with a .16mm layer height. .2mm would have been fine though. He is about 109mm x 49mm and 150mm tall. (about 4" x 2" x 6")

I used tree supports for his arms, between his legs, and under his chin. (touching baseplate only.) I put a support blocker on part of his head so there wouldn't be supports going around his eyes or mouth. They print fine without the supports there and it can be hard to dig out.

I’ll try to look into this more tomorrow. couple questions… Is that the same profile? is that a silk filament?

I never used silk with my profile, so maybe that is the issue. someone else who had a problem with it and added a picture also used silk.... Also, silk for this model is not the best choice. Even if it finished printing, I imagine the would be easier to break off the limbs. Silk is more brittle.

I changed the supports and the arms didn't work but I glued them back on.

did you try the supports that are in the profile? there should've been normal supports for the arms

No. I thought I could use my own settings. I'm still learning.

no problem. You can check out the profile I used and test them by just making the whole thing one color for a faster print. If you have any questions, feel free to message.

I had to colorize the different objects myself - and ended up using a black marker for mouth. I also tweaked the support settings a little bit. Printed with eSun PLA+ 😊👍

good print, although I had a adhesion failure and had to glue his arms on (he's waiting for a re-print). We used yellow for his crown and white for the drool, which my kid painted light blue👍

I printed the model in separate parts and reassembled it which saves a lot of time and material When printing the body you must select normal supports do not use tree supports as they are prone to falling

Nephew loved this. Printed the goo in glow in the dark green. Turned out good. I did have the change the prime tower it topped over twice. I made it into square and added a brim for good measure. I also had an issue with the support on the left arm…I just threw a cylinder underneath it for extra support.

I had issues with the X1C not purging enough of the black when going to back to blue (my AMS had retraction issues which seemed to confuse the printer) so I had to stop the first print. the second one was better. The drool seems like it was an afterthought in how it was shaped, and I had overhang issues with the mouth where the supports didn't quite do it, but otherwise the model was fine. Thank you for making and sharing this. I can't wait to give it to its new owner. :-)
