Hydra 70 Rocket Pod – 1:48 Scale

This model represents a Hydra 70 rocket pod in 1:48 scale and was developed as a versatile addition for modern jet and helicopter models. The modular design allows the pod to be equipped with various mounts, making it suitable for different aircraft types and mission configurations.

The characteristic design of the rocket pod has been implemented as faithfully as possible, while the construction has also been optimized for reliable printing on common FDM 3D printers.

Three Mount Variants Included

The model includes a total of three different mounts that can be used depending on the aircraft and desired configuration:

  • AH-64 Mount
Specifically developed for the Apache. Simultaneous mounting with the original Hellfire missiles is not possible.
  • Dual Mount
Allows the mounting of two pods on one station. Particularly suitable for aircraft such as the F/A-18 Super Hornet.
  • Single Mount
For mounting a single pod. Suitable, among others, for the F/A-18 Super Hornet, the General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon, and other modern jets.

Applications

The Hydra 70 is one of the most well-known unguided rocket systems and is used by both helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. With the various mounts, numerous realistic operational configurations can be displayed – from CAS missions to armed reconnaissance or support tasks.

Compatibility and Integration

The model has been designed to visually integrate well with the style of COBI aircraft and helicopters. Thanks to the interchangeable mounts, the same pod can be used for various models without having to print multiple versions.

One-color Version

In the one-color version, a pause is built in for manual filament changing, as the model otherwise wouldn't really make sense.

Background: Hydra 70

The Hydra 70 is a 70mm rocket family that has been used by numerous NATO forces for decades. Depending on the warhead, it can be used for various tasks and remains standard armament for many attack helicopters and fighter jets to this day.

Development

This model was designed at the request of Kit2925 and then specifically optimized for 3D printing. The focus was on good printability, modular application possibilities, and the most realistic implementation possible in 1:48 scale.

Current News

A poll is currently running on Discord to determine which model I should design next. (until approx. 06/10/26) (link below)

Links to Cobi jets:

F18E (Top Gun) (in the photos) (no longer for sale)

F18C (not compatible with the fuselage mount) Amazon

F14 (Top Gun) (in the photos) Amazon

Cobi offers the individual jets in many different (especially color) versions, which should not affect compatibility with my models, with a few exceptions (see above). If you find any other exceptions, please feel free to write to me!

Does anyone here know the game Nuclear Option? it's like a dish with a small pinch of Ace Combat topped with DCS graphics and as easy to play as War Thunder and you can drop nukes and fly futuristic planes that are based on real planes like the a19 brawler it would be incredible if you could create armaments from the game like the gop-N the standard nuclear weapon in the game

I've heard of the game, but haven't played it yet, and I need pictures of the weapons, preferably like the example.

I believe you accidentally uploaded the wrong file for the single-color version, as it still requires an AMS and seems identical to the AMS version

it's monochrome now, but the pause is still there, thought it didn't matter

Also, packs like the one you made, but with only 4 rockets, are more original for the A10

Then you just have to print the holder multiple times
