Description
During electrical installations in drywall, the fine drywall dust generated when drilling for cavity wall boxes always bothered me. Therefore, I designed this simple drill dust extraction system, which connects directly to a vacuum cleaner and extracts the dust as close as possible to its point of origin.
This drill dust extraction system is specifically designed for 68mm hole saws and is ideal for cutting openings for switch and socket boxes in plasterboard and drywall.

Print settings
- Material: PLA or PETG
- Layer height: 0.2 mm
- Infill: 20–30 %
- 3–4 perimeter recommended
- Support material not required
Application
- Connect vacuum cleaner hose.
- Place the dust extraction system over the marked drilling position.
- Turn on the vacuum cleaner.
- Use the 68mm hole saw to create the opening for the cavity wall box.
Note
The design was developed for standard cavity wall boxes with a drilling diameter of 68mm. Vacuum cleaner connection approx. 30mm. Depending on the vacuum cleaner model, an adapter for the hose connection may be required.
