Earthworm Jim – Iconic Cover Pose Display Statue (No AMS)

This Earthworm Jim model has been updated to optimize tolerances in the teeth, mouth, and hand holding the gun, ensuring more precise assembly. The original model remains, but these corrections ensure a better fit for the moving parts. A version with a built-in backpack will be added soon. Thank you for your interest and happy printing!

This model is a fan tribute to the iconic Earthworm Jim cover pose, recreated as a display statue with a dedicated pedestal base.

The entire model was sculpted from scratch in VR using Shapelab VR, focusing on capturing the dynamic silhouette and exaggerated style of the original artwork while adapting it for clean 3D printing.

Key Features

  • Fully sculpted in VR (Shapelab VR)
  • Inspired by the classic Earthworm Jim cover artwork
  • Designed as a display statue with integrated pedestal base
  • Optimized for single-color printing (no AMS required)
  • Clean geometry for reliable FDM printing
  • Both the base and the figure include slots designed for the insertion of magnets 9mm in diameter * 1.5mm deep.

Printing Notes

  • Recommended material: PLA (Generic PLA works well)
  • No multi-material system required
  • Supports may be needed depending on orientation and printer tuning
  • Suggested layer height: 0.12 – 0.2 mm for best detail

Additional note: The pupil details are designed to allow for easy finishing through post-processing, and can be filled in or adjusted manually for a more defined result if desired.
The method I've optimized involves applying a small amount of cyanoacrylate to the tip of a piece of black filament, inserting it into the pupil hole (designed diameter), cutting, heating, and flattening. It works perfectly with minimal effort.
