THE MODEL :
Embody absolute power and heroic classicism with this masterful sculptural bust. Depicting the demigod Hercules (Heracles) crowned with the invulnerable pelt of the Nemean Lion, this three-dimensional artwork celebrates the first of his legendary twelve labors. The striking details of the lion's mane, combined with the fierce facial features and dense beard of Hercules, evoke the finest masterpieces of Roman Baroque and ancient Greek statuary. It is the ultimate accent piece to bring a museum-like presence, historical depth, and timeless drama to your library bookshelf, study desk, or entryway.
Tested Print Settings (Recommendations): The rich organic textures and deep shadow lines of this model were successfully verified using matte black PLA.
- Infill: Display model successfully printed at 5%. Slicing Tip: Since this is a solid-style bust sitting on a built-in cylindrical pedestal, an infill rate of 5% to 10% is perfect for keeping the print efficient. If you wish to give it a more substantial, premium weight or intend to place it in a high-traffic area, feel free to increase the infill to 15-25%.
- Nozzle: 0.4 mm
- Supports: Light tree supports are recommended beneath the overhanging lion's jaw and under Hercules' nose for a flawless surface finish.
Sizing Information: The model is scaled beautifully to accent a desk or standard display shelf. Please feel free to freely resize the model based on your desired use inside your slicing software, whether to upscale it to your machine's limit for an imposing living room statue, or downscale it into a custom mythic chess piece.
INFORMATION:
A common question is: why do these prints require supports when they could be printed lying flat?
For my designs, I deliberately choose to print them standing upright rather than flat, in order to achieve the best possible level of detail. I prioritize visual quality over saving a few grams of filament.
Of course, you are free to change the print orientation in your slicer if you prefer.
