Audi S3/A3 8Y Rear Undercarriage Protection

This is an undercarriage protection piece for the Audi S3/A3 8Y generation made to help protect the underneath of the car from dirt/salt/debris.

 Some context behind this model. 

I have a 2022 Audi A3 S-line. I got my hands on an exhaust and rear diffuser from a 2023 S3. They are a direct swap and it was desirable to me as from factory the A3 doesn't have any exhaust tips visible out the rear. After doing the upgrade, I noticed there was now an empty gap behind the rear wheel. A piece of trim used to be there which is included for all A3 models but needs to be removed if you want a real exhaust.

As it turns out, Audi never bothered making a trim piece for the S3 in order to coverup some of the undercarriage behind the wheel (look at picture 3). I was not happy with leaving the gap there as I live in the salt belt, so I made my own trim piece that aligned well with the S3 exhaust and helped protect the underneath of the car. See before and after in the last 2 pictures. The piece I made is based on the trim piece which comes for the A3 from factory, but altered.

As far as mounting hardware goes, I used my OEM hardware I had left over from the A3 trim piece. This was a screw and a nut that would clip into the holes on the model. You can also use a simple bolt/nut combo. Lots of flexibility with this.

I printed this in PETG, but if you can, I would print it in ASA or ABS as it will likely be more sturdy. Haven't had any issues with PETG but I haven't driven through winter with this model yet.
