Muli Cargo Bike – Holder / Clip for the Locking Bar (Folding Basket)
Do you constantly lose the locking bar of your Muli cargo bike or does it rattle around in the basket while riding? This precisely fitting, 3D-printed holder solves the problem!
With this clip, the Muli folding basket's locking bar can be securely and firmly clipped in with a simple movement. It stays exactly where it should be – readily accessible, tidy, and absolutely silent.
Features:
- Perfect Fit: Precisely adapted to the tube diameter of the locking bar and the grid structure of the Muli basket.
- Secure Hold & Quick-Release: The bar snaps in with a noticeable „snap“ and can be removed just as easily.
- No more rattling: Prevents annoying vibration noises when riding over cobblestones or uneven paths.
- Robust Design: Integrated hexagonal recess on the underside to prevent the nut from spinning when tightened.
Required Mounting Material (Hardware):
For attachment to the basket grid, you need per holder (the set usually consists of 2 clips):
- 2x Pan head screw
- 2x Washer
- 2x Hex nut
Print Recommendations (Print Settings):
Since the component on the cargo bike is permanently exposed to weather (UV radiation, rain) and mechanical stress (flexibility when clipping in), I strongly recommend the following settings:
- Material: PETG, ASA or ABS (Do not use standard PLA, as it becomes brittle under UV radiation and does not possess sufficient flexibility for the clip mechanism). Tip: A black PETG visually matches the black Muli basket perfectly.
- Orientation: Print lying flat on its side (as seen in the photo) to ensure maximum layer stability for the clip arms.
- Infill: 25% – 40% (Gyroid or Grid)
- Walls (Wall Loops): At least 3–4 wall lines for maximum durability of the thread seat and the clamp.
- Support: Not required.
Assembly Instructions:
- Press the hex nut into the designated recess on the inside/underside of the clip.
- Position the clip at the desired location on your Muli folding basket (so that the locking bar aligns optimally).
- Insert the screw with the washer from the other side through the basket frame into the clip and hand-tighten it. (The nut prevents itself from spinning within the printed part).
- Done! Clip in the bar and enjoy the smooth ride.
