Description

Extended Goals: 50 Boosts=Original Damaged Hull

Picture of the original hull after being shot with a 155mm artillery shell.

For this model you will most likely need super glue.

This model represents the USS Wisconsin (BB-64) in her 1980s recommissioned configuration. It is designed to closely replicate the appearance of the modernized Iowa-class battleship, including the upgrades added during her return to service, such as Tomahawk and Harpoon missile launchers, Phalanx CIWS mounts, and the helicopter landing deck. It is a highly detailed model, and some of the more delicate parts may require super glue for reattachment after handling. A display plaque will soon be included.

Two sizes are provided — large and small — and each size includes both a colored and uncolored version. The larger model will need to be assembled with super glue.

Note on Colors:

The colors used are historically accurate. The dark red portion represents the anti-fouling paint applied below the waterline to prevent marine growth on the hull. The black band above it marks the waterline, just as it appeared on the real USS Wisconsin during her service. The hull and superstructure are painted in the distinctive haze gray scheme used by the U.S. Navy during the battleship's recommissioned service in the 1980s and early 1990s.
