New Labels for Napoleon Gas Grill Knobs (Rogue)
On the Napoleon gas grill, the labels on the gas control knobs wear off over time. I have created new abrasion-resistant labels that can be used with the original control knobs. I made them from PETG with standard settings (0.16 mm - High Quality), printed on an A1 mini.
The labels are a replacement for the bottom parts of the original control knobs. These new bottom parts are slightly larger than the originals so that they cover the old defective labels.
Since I don't have an AMS, the symbols/text are printed separately and then pressed into the base; no gluing was necessary. However, I deburred the side that lay on the print bed with a small file.
The letters and the small burner symbols, as well as the O (zero), are also just pressed in with gentle pressure. It is important to deburr the edges of the inserts with a key file. They fit so snugly that no adhesive is needed. I have tried it multiple times, and it works best if, after the symbol lightly clicks into the respective opening, you tap the symbols in with a small hammer and a wooden block. You could also use some lubricant (e.g., Vaseline), but I have always managed without lubricant. The wooden block ensures that everything is flush.
If you print the red symbols first, you can always insert them directly into the still warm (soft) freshly printed base.
The Sizzle Zone of the grill originally has a smaller knob than the burner knobs, but my base for the knobs is always the same size. Therefore, there is a spacer ring that is also just clamped in, or you can get a large knob for this, purely a matter of taste.
Someone on MakerWorld created a knob for Napoleon, which should also fit. Just search for it.
I will test this new labeling this summer and, if necessary, adjust it again; just check back from time to time.
