Description

Based on the Touch ID housing design by SnazzyLabs, I created a custom enclosure that allows the Touch ID sensor to be mounted directly onto Logitech MX Keys keyboards (tested with the MX Keys for Mac).

The design supports fully wireless operation and includes an integrated charging port, available in (either USB-C or) Lightning version. Apart from TouchID, the clicky button functionality itself works flawlessly.

The disassembly process is shown in the following video:

Please note that this modification was done using the Lightning version of the Apple Magic Keyboard without a numeric keypad.

To mount the charging port, you will need two M2 screws. I reused the original screws from the keyboard disassembly to secure the PCB inside the enclosure. The lid is glued with a little bit of superglue. The printed enclosure is attached to the keyboard using double-sided  tape.
