Description
Foldable 4-Bottle Drinks Carrier (With Magnetic Lock)
A robust, functional, and space-saving Foldable Drinks Carrier designed specifically for 3D printing. This model features a smart hinge mechanism allowing the side shelves to fold upwards, drastically reducing its footprint when not in use. It is the perfect companion for outdoor events, BBQs, picnics, or summer road trips.
The design features a sturdy central handle well-balanced for carrying up to 4 standard glass bottles or cans safely.
𧲠Optional Magnetic Feature
The base includes dedicated slots for 20x6 mm round magnets. These help to keep the shelves securely snapped together when the carrier is folded up. Note: This is completely optional; the carrier functions perfectly without them.
âď¸ Recommended Print Settings
- Layer Height: 0.24 mm (Optimized balance between printing speed and mechanical strength).
- Walls / Perimeters: 3 to 4 walls (Crucial for handle and hinge durability).
- Infill: 20% - 25% (Gyroid or Grid recommended).
- Supports: Only required for the central handle/body section overhangs. The folding shelves are designed to print completely support-free.
âď¸ Material Recommendations (Crucial for Summer Use)
To ensure the carrier survives hot summer days, direct sunlight, or being left inside a hot car, do not use standard PLA. Standard PLA will soften, warp, and sag under the weight of the bottles at temperatures above 50°C.
- PETG (Recommended Choice): Excellent UV resistance and highly ductile (it will flex slightly rather than snap under heavy load). It easily withstands temperatures up to 75°Câ80°C, making it perfect for outdoor use. It is easy to print on any open-frame printer.
- ASA (Premium Outdoor Choice): Superior UV protection, a beautiful matte finish, and high thermal stability (up to 95°C). It will not degrade or fade from prolonged solar exposure. Requires a closed printing chamber (enclosure) due to warping.
- ABS: High heat resistance (up to 90°C), but has lower UV resistance compared to ASA. Recommended if you plan to keep it mostly shaded or painted.
