Description

My family, friends, and I have a lot of RFID key fobs for things like apartment entrances, garage doors, workplace parking gates, and other access systems. Over time, the keychain loop on some of them breaks off, while the RFID chip itself still works perfectly. This design provides a simple way to repair and reuse those tags.

It is designed for standard RFID chips with a diameter of 28 mm (⌀ 28 mm).

Assembly

  • Remove any excess plastic from the original tag until only the RFID chip remains.
  • Insert the chip into the main body.
  • Secure it with a small amount of glue.
  • Attach the lid and let the glue cure.

Feel free to comment if you need a different size or want something added to it, like a logo, emblem, name, or other custom design.

Both the body and the lid provide space for customization, logos, text, or other designs. For my own tags, I simply print them in blue PETG.
