Description

LiFePO₄ Power Bank 22.5W

Compact power bank based on two 32140 LiFePO₄ cells. The cells are connected in parallel, giving a total capacity of 30Ah at a nominal voltage of 3.2V.

Required Components

  • 22.5W Power Bank Module 3.2V LFP (LX-TL225P)
  • 32140 LiFePO₄ 15Ah cells — 2 pcs
  • 40 kΩ resistor for charge indicator calibration
  • Thin wires, about 5 cm long, for relocating the charge indicator
  • Power wires for battery connection
  • M3×40 screws — 2 pcs
  • Heatsink 40×20×11 mm

I used a 40×40×11 mm LED heatsink and cut it in half.

Board Modification

To fit the board into this project, the charge indicator must be relocated:

  1. Desolder the charge indicator display from the board.
  2. Reconnect it using thin wires about 5 cm long.
  3. Replace the R6 resistor group with a 40 kΩ equivalent resistor.

This calibrates the charge indicator for a 30Ah battery pack made from two 32140 15Ah cells connected in parallel.

Battery Connection

Connect the two cells in parallel:

  • positive to positive
  • negative to negative

Connect the battery pack to the board:

  • B+ → battery pack positive
  • B− → battery pack negative

After Assembly

It is recommended to perform 1–2 full charge/discharge cycles to help calibrate the capacity indicator. After that, the charge level readings should become more accurate.
