Hario Skerton Plus Shaft Retainer

I found that there were accessories improving experience with Hario Skerton Grinder. There are some models at this site. Unfortunately, none of them worked for my version of Hario Skerton Plus. Thus, I designed my own retainer.

In my version, there is a steel retainer ring. However, the hole has a diameter about 8 mm so the threaded portion of the shaft can move through. Unthreaded shaft portion has a diameter about 7 mm. As result, there is 1 mm clearance between the shaft and the retainer. As result, there was noticeable play between burrs.

My design is not an ideal one. I need to screw the shaft into the retainer ring, thus some efforts are needed. But as a result, no play between burrs. Grinding became much more pleasant. Unfortunately, the uniformity of the grind wasn't improved dramatically. Better grinder - Timemore C5 ESP in my case - provided much better uniform grind. I am drinking V60 coffee; for finer grinds, results might be better.
