Description
Honestly, I was quite surprised that something so simple and practical wasn't already on MakerWorld!
Here is my solution for a universally applicable, extendable threaded rod, which can be perfectly used as a mini curtain rod, tension rod, or holder for all sorts of things. Whether for hanging utensils or clamping between two walls – this design is super versatile.
Features:
- Compact to print, big in use: Consists of two 250mm parts.
- Maximum Reach: Offers an effectively usable length of approx. 450 mm.
- Effortless Handling: Simply screw together and infinitely turn to the desired length. No tools or additional filament needed for assembly!
🖨️ Print Recommendations (Print Settings)
Since this is a functional thread, here are some tips for maximum stability:
- Material: PLA is completely sufficient for normal applications. If the rod needs to withstand a lot of tension or is used in a car/outdoor area, I recommend PETG.
- Infill: At least 25% to 35% (Gyroid or Grid for extra stability).
- Walls: I recommend 3–4 walls so that the thread and the rod are robust enough.
- Orientation: Print vertically. A Brim (bed adhesion) is strongly recommended, as the parts are tall and slender!
