Description

This project is mostly for my enjoyment, any feedback is greatly appreciated, especially with the print configuration since I mostly created the model and commissioned someone else to print it, I have 0 other 3D printing knowledge.

A red dot sight with flippable lens caps. This dummy sight should be compatible with any Aimpoint Micro pattern mounts, which you can find on my profile, just note that the sight is noticeably taller than most sights that use the Aimpoint Micro footprint.

Hardware needed:

- 4 M3x6mm screws to mount the sight to any compatible mounts you have. Screws from airsoft replicas or real steel sights of the Aimpoint Micro pattern should also work

- Superglue to attach the parts near the adjustment knobs, use more glue if any of the parts feels lose, such as the buttons/knobs

- Circular objects with a diameter of 3mm or lower (e.g. filament with tape wrapped around it) in case your printer struggles to print the pins used to attach the lens caps

The sight should be printed in PLA, the knobs should be printed in PETG or darker shades of black to make them stand out. The lens cap should be printed in TPU to make it rubbery like the real Aimpoint lens caps. If you don't have TPU, print the lens caps in strong materials like PETG with high infill to ensure that the parts don't easily break
