Description
This model is a highly detailed, multi-layered 3D-printed art bookmark featuring Vin, the protagonist of Brandon Sanderson’s original Mistborn trilogy. Designed specifically for fine-detailed filament color-swapping (or multi-material systems like the AMS), this piece captures Vin mid-flight as she pushes off a copper coin, soaring above the misty rooftops of Luthadel.
The design relies on precise layer-height transitions to build up the intricate details of her mistcloak, the gothic skyline in the background, and the surrounding Allomantic metal symbols. The result is a stunning tactile landscape in a flat, book-friendly format without needing any post-print painting.
Print Settings & Optimization
- Thickness: Perfectly optimized to remain ultra-thin and flexible so it sits smoothly between pages without placing strain on book spines, while retaining enough structural rigidity to stay completely flat.
- Layer Height: To cleanly capture the fine illustrative linework of the cascading coins, clothing folds, and the distinct Allomantic alphabet symbols in the corners, printing at 0.08mm or 0.12mm layer heights is highly recommended.
- Infill: 100% rectilinear infill should be used to ensure uniform strength across the thin profile.
- Ornate Border Frame: Framed by a classic gothic archway accented with raised line details that shield the internal artwork and offer extra edge durability.
- Tassel Ready: Includes a pre-modeled 2mm hole centered at the top tip, ideal for threading a matching royal blue or silver silk tassel after printing.
