Description

RXM FTA MK 1 PDW

DISCLAIMER---THIS IS A GRIP MODULE NOT A FIREARM, FOR USE WITH THE RUGER RXM'S FIRE CONTROL INSERT

STORY--I thought I would put my own spin on an RXM pdw grip module. I wanted something that's super sturdy and over-built to be used with weaker materials since not everyone can print polymers.  Other modules due to lack of material around cirital regions will crack around pins and trigger guard.

OVERVIEW--

  • REAR AND SIDE PICITANY RAILS FOR ANY STOCK AND LIGHT SET UP YOU DESIRE
  • CAN COMPATIBLE!!
  • SMALL GAS PEDAL FOR PROPER THUMB PLACEMENT/RECOIL CONTROL
  • THICKENED AROUND TRIGGER GUARD, SMALL PIN, AND STOCK EXTENSION FOR LESS FLEX AND SHOCK ABSORPTION
  • IRON SIGHTS UNOBSTRUCTED
  • LEFTY AND RIGHT CONFIGURED BUILD PLATES
  • OPTOMIZED FOR 3D PRINTING/SUPPORT INTERFACES. LESS UGLY SURFACES

PRINT ORIENTATION-- pre-orientated for structural integrity, if you think you can do better with support optomizations go for it, but I had great results

PRINTING MATERIALS-- I used BBL PA6-GF for my testing however I'd imagine PLA would do fine so long as you don't over heat it. USE PETG at your own risk as other have said it doesn't work good in relation to PEW PEWs

IF YOU USE PA6 I RECOMMEND PUTTING IT IN A HIGH HUMIDITY CONTAINER TO LET IT ABSORB MOISTURE SO ITS MORE TOUGH/ LESS SUSEPTIBLE TO FRACTURES

PRINT SETTINGS-- 8 WALLS 100% RECTANGULAR INFILL

IMORTANT NOTE: MUST USE MY MAG RELEASES FOR THE FORWARD AND AFT GRIP AS STOCK RXM MAG RELEASES WONT FUNCTION PROPERLY.

SEE PARTS LINKS BELOW

STOCK- I used “Folding Buffer Tube For 1913 Picatinny Rail” by 3d2a Remixes. search it up. over 1.5k downloads. Any stock that goes to 1913 pic will work, I just look folding for a PDW

ASSEMBLY--- it works like any other grip module for the RXM, you don't need the tiny M looking spring that puts tension on the forward rotating big PIN.

FUTURE SUPPORT

I don't have a sling mount yet or textures in the file yet, if I get enough boosts and support from this post then I'm thinking that will be next or a holster. Also variations to have a forward optic mount like FLUX 365s to have a full sized optic on this bad boy. If there's things ya'll would like to see in the future or if you find any problems with the model please comment, I'm very open to feed back and making this PDW better!!!
