Description

Swimrun Pull Buoy Cord Protector (Anti-Wear Guard)

Are you tired of your swimrun bungee cord cutting into your foam pull buoy like a knife through butter? This simple, lightweight 2-part 3D printed mod is designed to shield your pull buoy from elastic friction, drastically extending its lifespan!

By encasing the bungee entry point, the tension is distributed onto the plastic part rather than the fragile foam. No more trenches, no more ripped pull buoys.

🛠️ Assembly Instructions:

  1. Prep the hole: Carefully drill or pierce a 6mm hole through your pull buoy where the elastic usually goes.
  2. Test fit: Insert both parts from each side of the pull buoy to ensure they meet perfectly in the middle.
  3. Glue it: Apply a small drop of superglue (Cyanoacrylate) only on the inner interlocking pin of the connector.
  4. ⚠️ CRITICAL NOTE: Be extremely careful not to get any glue on the foam pull buoy itself, as some glues can melt or damage the foam.
  5. Thread it: Once the glue is fully cured, thread your elastic cord through, tie your knots, and you are ready to race!

🖨️ Recommended Print Settings:

Material: PETG or ASA/ABS (highly recommended for outdoor, water, and UV resistance). Avoid PLA as it might degrade with constant water exposure and sun.

Infill: 20-30% (Grid or Gyroid)

Walls: 3 or 4 walls for extra durability against bungee tension.

Supports: Not needed if printed flat on their backs.
