Swingball / Tether Ball Game

My kids were moaning that they were bored and I was fed up with going to the neighbours garden and picking up the balls that they kept hitting there. It was on one such walk back that I decided to address both problems. So here it is - 

Swingball 3D printed version. It prints without needing AMS Glueing the parts together is optional.

What's in the set (5 parts):

• Spring — the outer helical cage that wraps the centre body and gives it that satisfying chunky look
• Centre — the main structural body that houses your chosen sleeve and anchors the spring
• Pin — a small locking pin to secure the spring to the centre
• Sleeves — a set of three press-fit sleeves in 15mm, 22mm, and 28mm internal diameters to suit different mounting tubes

What you will need:

• A suitable ball - tennis ball or similar
• Strong cord - to tie through the ball
• A pole - Or tube in 15mm, 22mm or 28mm OD up to 2m long

Assembly:

1. Press your chosen sleeve into the centre body
2. Secure it with 4× self-tapping screws — M4 × 15mm (4mm diameter, 15mm long)
3. Thread the cord ring onto the spring
4. Slide the spring over the centre section
5. Insert the locking pin to hold the spring in place
6. Drop your tube or spike into the sleeve and plant it in the ground

The 28mm sleeve accepts standard 28mm copper water pipe (UK spec) 

Want a custom sleeve?

Easy — design your sleeve with an outer diameter of 46mm and a length of 55mm, and it'll drop straight into the centre body. Just make sure your inner bore fits whatever pipe or spike you're using.
