Description

Helmet Action Camera Mount

Description

This mount is designed for a stable and secure attachment of an action camera to your helmet.

It uses the universal mounting system (GoPro-style) – it fits all camera setups that use the standard two-prong connection secured with a pass-through screw. The design ensures a strong grip, keeping your gear safe during any activity.

Complete your setup! The perfect addition to this mount is my other project: a custom thumb knob for an M5x40mm screw. It makes tightening the camera much easier, especially when wearing gloves or with cold hands!

🔩 Required Hardware

To assemble and use this mount properly, you will need:

  • 1x M5 Screw – The clamping width of the mount is 19mm, so the screw needs to be long enough to pass through the entire assembly and catch the nut (I highly recommend using a 40mm screw with my custom knob linked above).
  • 1x M5 Nut – Absolutely essential for clamping down the mount and safely locking the camera's angle in place.

🖨️ Print Settings

This model is optimized for a quick print, but due to the geometry of the mounting tabs, it requires supports.

  • Print time: ~45 minutes
  • Supports: Required (Tree/Organic supports are highly recommended for easy removal).
  • Strength recommendations: Since this is a functional, load-bearing part, I recommend using at least 25-30% infill (Gyroid or Cubic pattern) and 3-4 wall loops/perimeters for extra durability so it won't break on impact.

If you give me the measurement of the two inner holes, we can try to do it remotely because I don't have access to your helmet.
