Description

Airless Sunglasses – Lightweight Ergonomic Honeycomb Design

 

I designed these Airless Sunglasses with a strong focus on comfort, style, and lightweight construction. One of my main goals was to avoid the typical flat-looking shape found in 3D-printed glasses. Instead, I made a dynamic, flowing, and ergonomic design. This curved design allows the glasses to fit comfortably and securely on the face.

 

The curved geometry not only gives the sunglasses a distinctive appearance but also helps them sit comfortably and securely. The honeycomb cutouts serve as an eye-catching design element while reducing weight and enhancing the overall aesthetic.

 

The default width of the sunglasses is approximately 145 mm (14.5 cm), which provides a comfortable fit for much users. The model can easily be scaled up or down to accommodate different head sizes. If you choose to scale the model, it is recommended to test the fit and ensure that the wall thickness and overall comfort remain suitable.

 

The model shown in the photos was printed with a 0.2 mm nozzle to preserve the fine details and achieve the best possible surface quality. For maximum comfort, you may lightly sand the edges of the temples with fine-grit sandpaper after printing.
