Description
⚠️ Current Status
This version currently requires manual burr removal before use as filament.
Please perform the following post-processing steps:
- Remove any protruding burrs using a hobby knife, cutter, or flush cutters.
- Complete removal is not required. Remove only the burrs that may interfere with filament feeding.
A redesigned version that reduces or eliminates these burrs is currently under development. This version remains available for users who wish to experiment with Gradient Filament.

🌈 FlexChroma™ Gradient Filament S4b Ver.1.11
- Requires Post-Processing -
Design the Flow of Color.
Create your own customizable gradient filament using your favorite colors.
Unlike commercial filament, you can choose from five different gradient cycle lengths.
S4 is the smallest model for the A1 mini, designed for very short gradient cycles and 3D Benchy-scale prints.
📏 Sizes
A total of 8 sizes are available:
- M1–M4 for 256 × 256 mm printers (X1 / P1 / P2 / A1)
- S1–S4 for A1 mini
Refer to the Gradient Filament Index for details on other sizes.
🔁 Cycle Count
Cycle count controls how quickly colors change along the filament length.
S4 includes five cycle counts:
- 0.5 cycle: A → B
- 1.0 cycle: A → B → A
- 2.0+ cycles: Progressively shorter, repeating gradients
The Gradient Cycle Length is determined by the combination of Filament Length and Cycle Count.
📈 Color Curves
Each size includes four perceptual color curves, optimized for different color combinations:
- 🌈 Vivid Curve (Default)
Enhanced transitions for large hue differences
Example: Yellow ↔ Cyan 🩶 Neutral Curve
Balanced and natural transitions similar to typical commercial gradient
filamentsDesert Tan ↔ Sakura Pink
- ☀ Contrast Curve
Optimized for large differences in brightness or transparency
Example: White ↔ Orange - ⚫ Deep Curve
Designed specifically for gradients that include black
Example: Black ↔ Magenta
⚠️ Important Notes
- Requires AMS and a 0.4 mm nozzle
- The spiral structure is intentionally designed to lightly connect in some areas to improve bed adhesion stability
- Adhesives and mixed material combinations are not recommended
- Always clean and degrease the build plate before printing
Adhesion difficulty generally increases in the following order:
PLA Basic → ABS → PETG → PLA Matte
PLA Matte is not recommended for standard textured PEI plates.
For Matte materials, high-adhesion build plates such as SuperTack or CryoGrip Glacier are recommended.
