Description
Parametric version of my Apeks first stage service tool. Used to remove the environmental cap and clamp on first stage regulators.

I used the fixed version https://makerworld.com/en/models/2854918-apeks-first-stage-scuba-regulator-tool#profileId-3184992 to successfully unscrew my three seized regulators that had been sitting in storage for 7, 9 and 12 years since last service.
- Holds the regulator securely in a snug fit
- Can be screwed down to a bench with basic wood screws
- Uses a 4mm drill bit as the pin
- Tight fit around the drill bit, made with teardrop holes
- Tested on two seized DS4 regulators and one seized DST regulator
The parametric version can be adapted to any similar first stage. Hopefully I can collect tested parameters for different regulator models in this description.
Print instructions:
- I tested with PLA, but stronger materials may be preferable
- Use lots of perimeter walls (8+)
- Dense infill (I used cubic 75%).
Usage
- mount ("vice" or “screw” version)
- Use a drill-bit (nominally 4mm, parameterizable) as a pin in the bottom tear-drop shaped
- Use a first stage handle (rod that threads into low-pressure or high-pressure ports) to loosen the environmental cap (don't take it off yet)
- Mine were seized so I had to wack the handle with my palm to get them loose
- Repeat with the pin in the upper hole for the clamp
