Smart Roller Blind Automation (NEMA 17)

Convert manual roller blinds into smart/automated ones. Designed to grip standard beaded chains securely without slipping.

🛠️ Bill of Materials (BOM)

  • 1x NEMA 17 Motor
  • 9x M3x16 Screws
  • Wall mounting screws
  • Optional: ESP32/Arduino + Driver (TMC2209/A4988)

🖨️ Print Settings

  • Filament: PETG, ABS, or ASA (Avoid PLA due to chain tension).
  • Walls / Infill: 4 Walls | 35% Infill (Gyroid).
  • Supports: Minimal (Only for the main housing overhang).

🔧 Assembly

  1. Mount the printed sprocket on the motor shaft.
  2. Route the chain through the housing and over the sprocket.
  3. Close the housing and mount the motor using the 9x M3x16 screws.
  4. Mount to the wall with proper chain tension.
