Sharp / Vestel Tumble Dryer Door Catch / Door Pin Replacement

Replacement for original manufacturer part number: 42190493

This is a replacement door catch / door pin for selected Sharp, Vestel and compatible tumble dryers.

The original part is known to crack or snap over time due to repeated door loading. This model was recreated from the original dimensions and tested in ASA for improved temperature resistance and durability.

Included Models

This file contains 2 print variants:

1. Split Model (Recommended)

The mounting bosses are separated from the main body and intended to be acetone welded after printing in ASA/ABS

Advantages:

• easier to print
• no problematic overhangs
• significantly reduced warping risk
• better visible surface finish
• no supports required

The bosses self-align using the original screws during assembly.

2. Full Original Geometry

A one-piece version of the part, oriented vertically for traditional printing. Suitable for all filaments

This version preserves the original geometry but may require:

• supports
• strong bed adhesion
• careful warping management

Recommended Printing Materials

Recommended order:

1. ASA
2. PETG
3. PLA

ASA provided the best combination of:

• temperature resistance
• rigidity
• surface finish
• durability

PETG should also work well and offers easier printing with reduced warping.

PLA has been physically tested and confirmed working, including surviving a full drying cycle, but due to the heat exposure inside tumble dryers it should be considered the least preferred long-term material.
