Description

I designed this part as a stronger replacement for the original clip, especially for dogs that have managed to break or damage the standard one. It is not an exact copy of the original part, but a thicker and reinforced adaptation made to work better as a 3D printed flexible piece.

⚠️ Beta version:
This design is still being tested, but the clip currently in use has worked well so far with no issues.

Three versions are included depending on the TPU/flexible filament hardness:

  • 85A — for very flexible TPU (standard version)
  • 90A — medium flexibility
  • 95A — stiffer TPU / stronger grip

The main difference between the versions is the tolerance of the GPS locking hole. Softer filaments usually need a tighter version, while stiffer filaments may need a little more clearance.

In my case, I used the strongest-grip version with 95A TPU. It fits very tightly and is harder to attach/remove, but it feels very secure and unlikely to come loose.

📏 Collar/strap thickness:
The fit also depends on the thickness of your dog collar or harness strap. If your strap is too thick, you can slightly increase only the Z dimension of the model in your slicer to create more space. Avoid scaling X/Y unless you want to change the GPS locking fit.

🛠️ Recommended print settings:

  • Material: TPU / flexible filament
  • Infill: 80–100%
  • Walls: 3–4
  • Layer height: 0.16–0.24 mm
  • Supports: not required
  • Print orientation: flat on the bed

💬 Feedback is very welcome!
Please let me know which version you printed, what TPU hardness you used, and whether the fit was too tight, too loose, or just right. This will help improve future versions.

⚠️ Always test the clip at home before using it outdoors. Make sure the GPS is securely attached and the printed part has no cracks, weak layers or deformation.

This design is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Tractive. It is simply a compatible printable replacement part.
