Say hello to the G3D Pop, an ergonomic, functional print-in-place tool designed to make opening aluminium cans completely effortless. This is a quick, easy, and highly practical print that makes an excellent gift, market vendor item, or everyday carry gadget.
Why Design This?
Opening beverage or food cans can be surprisingly painful or difficult for many. The G3D Pop was intentionally designed to solve this problem for two primary groups:
- Accessibility & Limited Mobility: Perfect for individuals dealing with arthritis, weak grip strength, or limited hand dexterity. The integrated loop handle allows for one-finger operationâsimply hook a finger through and pull back. No tight pinching or gripping needed!
- Nail Protection: A must-have tool for anyone with long, acrylic, or freshly manicured nails. Save your nails from painful splits and chipped polish.

đ ď¸ Recommended Print Settings
This model has been optimised for clean, support-free printing. For the best functional strength (since it utilises leverage), we recommend the following settings:
- Orientation: Print flat on its base (as oriented in the STL).
- Supports: None required!
- Wall Loops / Perimeters: 3 to 4 walls (Crucial for ensuring the thin front lip and the loop handle don't snap under leverage).
- Infill: 20% to 30% (Grid, Gyroid, or Adaptive Cubic work best).
- Top/Bottom Layers: 4 layers.
- Material: * PLA / PLA+: Works perfectly and provides great rigidity for lifting tabs.
- PETG / ABS / ASA: Excellent choices if you plan to leave it in a hot car or attached to an outdoor cooler bag.
đ Additional Parts (Optional)
To finish the look as seen in the photos, you can add a standard 4-inch (10cm) metal ball chain keychain through the rear loop. They are cheap to buy in bulk and turn this model into the ultimate travel companion!
