Foam Pad Mop Head

This tool holds 4 high density cleaning sponges in a 2x2 pattern. It attaches to a standard 20mm diameter broom handle and allows the use of these super fine sponges on my fine textured floor to “Pre Clean” prior to mopping with more traditional methods. Lots of water and some spray on cleaner really helps. The collapsible  handle from a car cleaning pad works best. Attach it to the mop head using some  #6 1 inch long sheet metal or dry wall screws. These easily start in the 3D plastic then penetrate the broom handle. Doesn't really need pre-drilling so i didn't provide printed holes. 2 screws 90 degrees apart work fine. A ½" bolt nut and washer keep the hinge together. Yeah its a bit over kill but this allows good strength even with economy PLA. 

The tile floor in front of my dog door gets really muddy, The floor has a fine texture that makes regular mops and cleaning machines somewhat useless as the nap of these mops can not reach into the fine texture of the floor, including my $500 floor cleaning machine with a power roller and steam.  I found that the “Magic Eraser” sponges are the only thing that can get the mud out of the fine textured floors. But crawling around on my hands and knees on a damp floor is too much work. 

This tool lets me scrub standing upright with a spray bottle in hand to get the dirt out of the fine texture of my floors.  The sponges pressure fit into the cavities and usually stay put. This allow easy removal  to rinse out, reverse and reinstall. its important not to let the sponges clog up. I can do my entire kitchen with just 4 sponges. These are easily and cheaply bought in bulk online.
