Ikea Lack Under-Desk Filament Rack (21mm Dowel Remix)
This is a rugged, remix of the brilliant under-desk filament rack concept for Ikea Lack tables orginally by taylormadearmy. While the original design was a fantastic space-saver, I modified the geometry and hardware specs to suit my needs.
If you want to reclaim massive amounts of desk space and keep your active spools right where you need them under your printer enclosure, this upgraded version is for you.
đ Whatâs Changed in this Remix?
- Beefier Dowel Support (21mm): The original design used 19mm rods. I altered the geometry to perfectly fit 21mm wooden dowels. I've uploaded the 3mf file, which you're able to customise with your specific dowel size.
- Expanded Capacity: Tweaked the profile of the side pieces to allow you to squeeze in an extra spool per rack compared to the original.
- Upgraded Hardware (M3): Increased the mounting screw holes to accommodate standard M3 screws for a rock-solid bite into the Lack table legs.
- Flush Countersunk Holes: The screw holes are now fully countersunk, so your hardware sits completely flush with the printed frame for a much cleaner look.

Each rack requires two 600mm x 21mm wooden dowels.
