Description

Fix your clicking or popping Toyota doors! šŸš—šŸ’„

If your car doors make a loud clicking sound when opening or closing, the plastic inserts inside the door check (door brake) are worn out. Instead of buying an expensive new OEM part, you can easily rebuild your original door check with these custom-designed replacement bushings.

This model was specifically designed and tested for a Toyota Rav4, but since Toyota shares parts across many vehicle lines, it is highly likely to fit several other Toyota models from the same era.

šŸ”§ Requirements:

  • Quantity: You need 2 bushings per door.
  • Material: Print in TPU (highly recommended 70D or harder). Regular PLA or PETG will wear out or crack too quickly under the high spring pressure.
  • Infill: 100% (Solid) for maximum durability.

šŸ› ļø Installation brief:

  1. Remove the door panel and unbolt the door check mechanism.
  2. Carefully drill the 2 spot welds holding the metal parts together
  3. Remove the old worn-out plastic inserts and springs.
  4. Clean out any old debris and grease.
  5. Insert the new 3D-printed TPU bushings and the old rubber cushion springs
  6. Important: Apply a generous amount of thick grease (like lithium grease) inside the mechanism before reassembling.
  7. Either use a pop rivet or welder to fasten the two metal parts together

Please leave a comment and a make if this fits your specific Toyota model so we can build a compatibility list for the community!
