Description

Speakers Enclosure: LSX II-like

This design is inspired by the KEF LSX II, scaled down specifically for 3" full range speakers.
The clean and minimal curved shape makes it a perfect fit for a desktop setup, and honestly, I really like how the overall proportions turned out.

The enclosure has been optimized for 3D printing, allowing the main body to be printed entirely without supports.
The whole pair of speaker enclosures can also be completed within a single spool of filament.

Since this design uses 3" full-range drivers, I’d still recommend pairing it with a subwoofer if you want a fuller and more powerful sound experience, creating a proper 2.1channel setup.

Printing Parts

  • LSX II-like _main
  • LSX II-like _lid

Sizes

  • 116 mm (W) ×173 mm (H) x 130 mm (D)

Printing Tips

  • The enclosure is printed at a slight angle.
To achieve a cleaner and smoother main top surface, it’s recommended to print the model upside down (refer to the provided print profile).

  • To make the top surface texture look smoother and more consistent with the other faces, I recommend using a smooth build plate. I used the “Bambu Lab Cool Plate SuperTack”.

  • The rounded corners are designed to print without supports, but due to the curvature, there will still be some minor overhang artifacts.

If surface quality is important to you, reducing the layer height can help minimize roughness around the curved edges.

  • The main body was printed using a 0.2 mm layer height (default setting).
No supports are needed for the main enclosure, except for a small amount around the lid screw holes.
