Description

This is a custom-designed, replacement pin (connector bolt) for round Bestway Steel Pro and Steel Pro MAX frame pools. If your original plastic pins have become brittle from UV exposure or snapped during setup/teardown, this 3D-printable replacement will get your pool back together in no time.

Optimized for 3D printing with reinforced geometry.

Versions Included

I have created two different versions of this pin so you can choose the best printing method for your setup:

  1. Original Rounded Version (Requires Support): This perfectly matches the original shape. For the best result, print it horizontally using PETG/ASA and use PLA as support interface material (if you have an AMS/multi-material system). This makes support removal incredibly clean and easy.
  2. Flat-Cut Version (Supportless): I cut a small flat surface onto one side of the pin. This allows you to lay the pin completely flat on the heatbed, meaning you can print it 100% without any supports.

Technical & Compatibility Details

  • Original Part Number Referenced: P61020ASS16
  • Design Basis: Reverse-engineered from the original functional part.
  • Pool Type: Suitable for round Bestway Steel Pro / Steel Pro MAX frame pools.

Supported Pool Diameters & Required Quantities:

According to the official user manuals, here is the number of pins required for a complete pool setup depending on your model:

  • Ø 2.74 m (9 ft) → 20 pieces
  • Ø 3.05 m (10 ft) → 22 pieces
  • Ø 3.66 m (12 ft) → 26 pieces
  • Ø 3.96 m (13 ft) → 28 pieces

Recommended Print Settings

Since these pins are structural and exposed to constant water, chlorine, and outdoor UV rays, choosing the right material and settings is crucial:

  • Material: PETG or ASA / ABS (Avoid standard PLA for the final part, as it will degrade quickly under sunlight and mechanical stress).
  • Infill: 100% (Solid) or at least 40-50% with 4-5 walls (perimeters) for maximum shear strength.
  • Orientation: Always print horizontally (flat on the bed). Printing it vertically makes it prone to snapping along the layer lines when pressure is applied.
