Weekly Octagonal Pillbox - Morning & Night
Unique, compact octagonal design optimized to store your Morning and Night doses in a single ergonomic body (77 mm height, 70 mm diameter). It features 7 open compartments with raised day letters and an 8th solid face that acts as a safety lock when the lids are rotated
Hardware required
1x M4 screw (20mm length, standard round/Philips head)
1x M4 nut (fits into the bottom hex slot of the lower container)
Print Settings
Layer height: 0.2 mm
Wall thickness: 1.2 mm (3 perimeters) for maximum strength
Infill density: 15-20%
Supports: None needed (Support-free design)
Dual-color letters instructions (Pause at Layer 24)
You can use the provided .3mf project or the standalone STL file. Program a print pause (M600 command) in your slicer exactly at layer 24 (where the raised day letters start to extrude). At this point, simply switch to a contrasting filament color (e.g., red filament on a yellow background) and resume printing
Why are there two different containers
The lower container features a dedicated hex slot to secure the M4 nut at the bottom. On the other hand, the upper container has an 8.5mm recessed smooth hole to embed and hide the screw head. Do not duplicate the same file; each piece has an opposite mechanical function to keep the central axis under tension
Material Recommendation (PETG vs PLA)
It is highly recommended to print this model using PETG. It provides much better wear resistance for the rotating lids, is less porous (more hygienic for storing pills), and allows you to clean the pillbox safely using alcohol or disinfectants. While PLA can be used, the material will suffer from higher wear and tear over daily use
