Sanding tools share a critical limitation: they only work effectively when the sanding surface maintains full and stable contact with the workpiece

Open-source sanding head NeoSander with a new variant designed to address this

This head is 20mm wide

TPU Printing (FDM):

  • You must use medium hardness TPU (≈68D / 100A), such as Bambu TPU for AMS
  • DO NOT use TPU 90A or softer materials (insufficient structural strength)
  • Avoid excessive print speed — TPU requires stable and controlled printing for strength and reliability
  • Pay attention to the model orientation to avoid low Z-axis strength issues

Resin Printing:

  • Only use flexible / tough resin
  • DO NOT use rigid resin (risk of brittle failure during use)

Fitment and Assembly Warning

Do not force the sanding head into the NeoSander if it feels too tight. Slight oversizing may occur due to printer tolerances, residual support material, or material shrinkage — this is normal for FDM/resin prints. Forcing installation can cause the part to jam or break, and in some cases the broken shaft may remain inside the tool

If the fit is too tight, please lightly sand or trim the printed part before assembly
