UPDATE 06/07/2026
The body model was reloaded because the previous project was deleted by the platform. More details here

I came up with this project inspired by the amazing videos from PatrikRCs. This conversion kit allows you to transform your TRX4M into a 1/18 scale prerunner with independent front suspension and a rear axle mounted on trailing arms.

The subframe uses mounting points from skid plate model by kylegoose.

One important feature I implemented here is the minimal use of hardware — the entire front suspension is assembled using a filament as hinge pins. A single drop of glue on one end is enough to secure them reliably.

All the remaining hardware required for mounting the rear shocks can be reused from the original front suspension after disassembly.

You will also need to reuse the steering knuckles from the stock front suspension together with their axle mounts.

As for drivetrain recommendations — I installed overdrive gears in the rear axle, and overdrive gearing is also used in the gearbox. Right now I am running a 3600 KV motor, but it feels like this setup would benefit from a motor with a higher KV rating.

The suspension performs great both over small bumps and during jumps. During testing, several weak points were identified and later reinforced. The parts are oriented on the print bed in a way that maximizes strength.

The file includes two variations of the servo mount — with and without a bumper. You can use the bumperless version to add any custom model you want in your editing program of choice and then print the part as a single piece.
