The original cloth holders of my mop became brittle over time and slowly broke apart due to UV exposure, cleaning chemicals, and regular mechanical stress.

Since the mop itself was still perfectly usable, I did not want to throw everything away because of one tiny plastic part.

So I reverse-engineered the holders and redesigned them specifically for TPU printing.

Compared to the original parts, the TPU version offers several advantages:

  • much more flexible
  • far less likely to crack
  • improved cloth grip
  • better resistance against sunlight and moisture
  • sustainable repair instead of replacing the whole mop

The star-shaped slit design allows different cloth thicknesses to be clamped securely.

The shown version was printed in TPU 95A on a Bambu X1C.

This model is perfect for repairing old mops and extending their lifetime instead of throwing them away because of small broken clips.

Recommended print settings:

  • Material: TPU 95A
  • 4–5 walls/perimeters
  • slow print speed recommended
  • no supports required
