Description
When I retired my GL.iNet GL-X3000 Spitz AX for my shiny new Mudi7 GL-E5800, almost everything got faster. The only thing I missed was the solid performance in areas with sub-optimal cell coverage.
My first solution worked (using SMA TS9 Coax Adapter to mount antennas), but it didn't seem viable long term - with the wimpy TS9 ports (soldered directly t o the motherboard) taking the weight of the antennas and any torque / impact those might receive. This might not be a problem for some people, but I have children!
My next try used Proxicast 12 inch TS9 to SMA Female External Antenna Adapter Cable Pigtail to connect the antennas T-Mobile External Antenna Kit, 2 x 5G/4G Antenna SMA Male 600-6000Mhz 12dBi Mimo Antenna - leaving the antennas flopping around in the wind.
GL.iNet was kind enough to publish an STL for a Wall Mount Bracket, which served as a starting point for this project. I modified this to add mounts for the antennas as well as expanding the charging hole at the bottom to facilitate use of a USB C Magnetic Adapter.
The top is not required if you intend to wall mount this.
I welcome any remixing - I am terrible with CAD so I have no doubt this could be improved on.
