Apex 5 Inch XT60 Cable Routing Cover
Print Profile(1)

Description
Do you enjoy flying copters â a bit fasterđ?
Are you building an FPV copter and looking for a solution where everything sits neatly, is extremely robust, stable, and still affordable?
Also, should something break, everything should be quick and easy to replace?
If you use the Walksnail system together with an ExpressLRS receiver 2.4Ghz and coincidentally choose the Apex 5 inch frame (AliExpress version, not the original) â (an extremely stiff and stable frame, very affordable at approx. 20âŹ) â
then I have designed the perfect solution for you.
Not only functional and durable, but also a real eye-catcher.
This cover serves to protect the cables that run underneath the Apex 5 inch frame to the ESC.
It is suitable for cables with an outer diameter of approximately 3.4 mm (corresponding to about 14â15 AWG).
The cables intentionally run under the frame, as there would hardly be enough space within the frame â especially when using a Moonlight Kit.
At the same time, the cover not only provides protection but also ensures much tidier cable management (precise soldering of the cables is necessary here!) and a more visually appealing exterior design.
The special feature:
The printed part (PLA) is not screwed. It is held exclusively by a precise press fit on the four screw heads (Ă 5.4 mm). For this, for example, the following were used:
ISO 14580 M3 Titanium screws
These are available affordably, for example, on AliExpress.
The fit is very tight and secure. In normal operation, nothing moves. Even during harder crashes, the cover reliably stays in place. Should it fly off during an extremely violent impact, other parts of the copter would likely already be damaged anyway đ
I have tested the design myself in use â and it fully serves its purpose.
The basic concept of my design is based on maximum flexibility:
You can easily switch to a Walksnail Avatar V2 VTX later without conflicts with the XT60 connector's position.
This position for the XT60 connector is the same in both of my VTX print mounts (see my other models).
The power cables themselves, the cable cover, and the XT60 connector also remain identical in both variants â so a conversion is easily possible.
Important to note:
an additional cable with an outer diameter of approx. 3.4 mm (or slightly smaller) is required
recommended: 14 or 15 AWG cable, available in many FPV or electronics shops
(absolutely sufficient for an FPV freestyle copter, as long as you don't fly permanently at 100% throttle) đ
at least 4Ă ISO 14580 M3 cylinder head screws with an outer Ă4.5mm (Titanium screws) are required
(order more for the whole copter, I hate round hex screws anyway đ)
If you have completed your âApex 5 inch Walksnailâ project, feel free to post a photo in the review so other FPV pilots can see the build đ
This will be a really robust and awesome copter!
