Tacx (Garmin) Neo 2T / Smart Turbo Trainer Tool
Print Profile(1)

Description
This is a hub removal tool for a Tacx (now Garmin) Neo 2T or older Neo Smart turbo trainer.
If your turbo is making grinding, whirring or whining noises then this is the tool for you.
There's high forces going through the tool so I would strongly recommend that you use PETG or similar high strength filament.
Caution! If you use PLA then there's a risk of the tool splitting and the hub snapping back dangerously. You have been warned.
To remove the Neo hub…
- Remove the cassette.
- Remove 3 screws from the hub and install this tool using the 3 screws. The screws should be installed lightly on the tool. If screwed too tightly they will burst the plastic.
- Hand turn the bolt until the hub is driven apart and can be removed. The hub is only held by the magnet force so once this is overcome then it should just pull straight off. Careful, the hub is heavy!
To reinstall the hub…
- Ensure the bolt is still screwed in, realign the hub on the trainer and it should pull itself in.
- Handturn to unscrew the bolt until the hub is fully home.
- Remove the 3 screws then reinstall them on the hub.
- Reinstall the cassette.
Caution! Please keep fingers away from the hub edges at all times. The magnetic force is strong and the hub can snap backwards if the tool fails.
