Description
The "Boobber" – The Most Supportive Tackle in Your Box
Fishing is all about patience, technique, and having the right equipment to keep your spirits (and your bait) lifted. Introducing the Boobber: the buoyant buddy that brings a little extra, ahem, uplift to your fishing line. As showcased in the rather majestic photo these "Big 'ol plastic Boobbers" are expertly designed to catch the eye of the fish and definitely get a chuckle out of your fishing buddies. Say goodbye to boring foam spheres and hello to the most aerodynamic teardrop shape nature ever inspired!
🎣 Why You Need These in Your Tackle Box
- Maximum Buoyancy: Guaranteed to stay perky and afloat in even the choppiest of waters.
- Aerodynamic Casting: That sweeping teardrop shape isn't just for show—it cuts through the air and casts like an absolute dream.
- High-Visibility Indicators: The prominent "tips" (as seen sporting yellow in the photo) make for excellent bite indicators.
- A Great Icebreaker: Nothing starts a conversation on the dock quite like reeling in one of these beauties.
🖨️ Recommended Print Settings
To make sure your Boobbers don't become sinkers, you need to trap as much air inside as possible while keeping the water out.
- Material: PETG or ABS/ASA is recommended for UV resistance during long days in the sun, though PLA works fine for casual trips. Note: Does not require silicone.
- Walls/Perimeters: 3 to 4 walls. You need a sturdy, watertight outer shell.
- Infill: 5% to 10% Gyroid or Lightning infill. You want these as hollow as possible to maximize lift!
- Top/Bottom Layers: 4 to 5 layers to ensure no gaps at the poles.
- Supports: Minimal supports needed depending on your printer's overhang capabilities.
For the ultimate watertight seal, give your finished print a quick coat of clear spray enamel or epoxy. It keeps the water out and gives them a very flattering, glossy finish!
Disclaimer: Using the Boobber will not guarantee you catch a mermaid, nor does it guarantee your wife will let you display your tackle box in the living room. Happy printing, and tight lines!
