📌 Glass Bead Cat-Eye Magic Tool

6.9 Looking at the comments, some users mentioned that using a single 10mm × 30mm "magnet" with a 10mm × 30mm "stainless steel dowel pin" also works well. You could also try having one high and one low to create a tilted magnetic field. I'm considering adding a central positioning point and a height adjustment function. If you're interested, please leave suggestions in the comments or message me privately

Update on May 24th, 13:00: To test the model, I, a clumsy person, spent money on takeout and bought a set of nail art tools 🥲. After more than an hour of testing (almost got nail polish poisoning Σ_(꒪ཀ꒪」∠)), I found that the left and right magnetic poles must attract each other and be level (horizontal left and right are SN). The best effect is when the magnets are approximately 1-2mm above the nail surface. If they are too low, the center tends to have a void. The desired central point should be placed at the center of rotation, and about 3-5 rotations are sufficient. Excessive rotation force can easily cause eccentricity

The middle picture is feedback from a beautiful lady. The two pictures on the left and right are my clumsy test photos, with the left showing 1-2mm above the nail surface and the right showing a level nail surface. Please forgive my uneven and clumsy technique, as it's my first time doing nail art~

Update on May 24th, 01:00: Concentricity adjusted, added a spare stand for wearable nails, and conducted material testing: Accuracy and smoothness: PLA > PETG

Update on May 23rd, 18:00: Adjusted magnet spacing. Due to varying magnetic strengths among different manufacturers, the magnet spacing has been adjusted

Update on May 23rd, 15:00: Magnets just arrived, immediately tested and adjusted base concentricity

Update on May 23rd, 13:00: Improved some details, added 8mm diameter magnet compatibility, and added spare 2.5mm screw locking holes

💡 Inspiration & Feature

When applying "glass bead cat-eye" or special cat-eye magnetic effects, do you constantly readjust due to shaky hands or incorrect angles

This **Glass Bead Cat-Eye Magic Tool** was created specifically to solve this problem! Say goodbye to tedious, repeated micro-adjustments and achieve a perfect, symmetrical, rounded glass bead cat-eye effect in **one go**. It's easy to operate, even for clumsy users

⚙️ Hardware & Specifications

  • Magnet Size: * You will need 2 cylindrical strong magnets with a diameter of 10{mm} and a length of 30mm (3cm × 1cm)

  • Design Highlight: * The model features an adjustment knob and a dedicated magnet clamping slot on top, ensuring stable clamping, preventing slippage, and perfectly matching magnet sizes

  • Statement: *The creator tested with N45 magnets, and all print profiles are supported. Considering the mixed quality of magnets on the market, a version with closer magnet spacing was created. If the magnetic strength is unknown, it's recommended to print the closer magnet version. The test prints used original Bambu Lab PLA. The finger width is 23mm, so there's almost no need to worry about finger width issues

🛠️ Printing Tips

  • Support: It is recommended to enable appropriate supports based on your printer's accuracy to ensure perfect printing of overhangs and magnet holes
  • Layer Height: $0.16\text{mm}$ - $0.2\text{mm}$ are both suitable
  • Infill: $15\% - 20\%$ (grid or gyroid infill can be used to increase strength)
