Description

Check out the full ecosystem! This set adds swinging doors and flexible access to your custom C&C enclosure. Be sure to check out the CompleteGeometric C&C Collection on MakerWorld to download the matching base connectors and multi-directional hubs for multi-level builds!

Overview Take your custom C&C enclosure to the next level with functional doors and flexible playpens. This modular drop-pin hinge system allows you to create swinging doors or completely removable panels without dismantling your cage. Designed as an expansion to the original connectors, they maintain the same sleek, low-profile aesthetic while adding massive utility to your pet's habitat.

The Design

  • Drop-Pin Style Hinging: The two-part system allows doors to easily swing open for cleaning or feeding, and can be lifted entirely off the hinges when you need full access to the enclosure.
  • Complete Modularity: Features straight, half, quarter, and L-shaped (corner) variations, ensuring you have a hinge to turn any flat wall or 90-degree junction into a functional gate.
  • Sleek & Low Profile: Maintains the modern "diamond-cut" silhouette that sits tight to the wire grids for a streamlined, custom-built appearance.

What’s Included

  • Straight Hinges (Half & Quarter): For adding a hinge directly along a flat wall segment.
  • L-Shape Corner Hinges: For turning exterior and interior cage corners into swinging gates.
  • Pins & Slots: Configured for top and bottom placement, including mirrored files to accommodate left or right door swing directions.
  • Multiple File Formats: Includes both a ready-to-print .3mf file with optimized layouts and a .zip of individual .stl files for custom slicing.

Recommended Print Settings

  • Material: PETG is highly recommended. It provides the necessary "flex" to snap onto the grids and the durability to handle the mechanical wear of swinging doors.
  • Note on PLA: While these can be printed in PLA, it is more brittle and may crack over time under the tension of the wire grids and the friction of the hinges.
  • Infill: 15% - 20% (Grid or Gyroid).
  • Walls: 3 Wall Loops are recommended for extra structural strength on the pin and slot mechanisms.
  • Orientation: Pay attention to part orientation to ensure the hinge pins print with maximum Z-axis strength.
