govee permanent outdoor lights controller box

I created this box to hold both the controller and power supply for the Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights 2. Both of them fit nicely in it. This is an easy way to hold the controller and power supply of the light string in a tidy manner.

I am not sure on the compatibility of this box with the other versions of the permanent outdoor lights. I did use it with the Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights original version and version 2.

The box has 4 mounting holes that fit #8 screws. I didn't try it but I believe #10 screws fit as well. Be careful while screwing these in. Like the light brackets, these will break at the mounting tabs if screwed in too much to the surface.

Along the short edges of the box are two elongated slots for the cords to hang out from. The dimensions of the slots allow the 2 cords on each end to fit freely and not be pinched against the mounting surface. The front of the boxes have a hole so that you have access to the power button on the controller usually used while pairing the lights during initial setup. The hole is the same dimension as what is on my 2 hole light brackets. I also created the hole plugs if someone was wanting to paint the home/mounting surface without having to worry about covering the controller and power supply.

I printed these in ABS because of the exposure to the outdoors. I printed them with the front of the box facing down onto the print bed. This allows the use of supports only under each of the 4 mounting tabs. I didn't use any brims and it printed fine but it wouldn't be a bad idea to use them.
