Loop Breathing Pause Card for Kids

This 3D printable SEL tool gives children a calming finger tracing path to follow while practising mindful breathing, focus, and emotional regulation. Students begin at the raised O, then slowly trace the loop path as they breathe in and out.
 

The included 3MF file contains both versions, so you can choose the style that works best for your students, classroom, or sensory space:

Raised Path Version
An embossed tactile path that students can feel clearly as they trace.

Indented Path Version
An engraved tactile path that gives students a smooth recessed channel to follow with their finger.
Both versions are no AMS, quick to print, and use less than 20 g of filament, making them easy and quick to print for classrooms, calm corners, counselling spaces, occupational therapy rooms, and home regulation kits.

How to Use

Begin at the raised O, which is designed to be the consistent starting point across the SEL Pause Cards collection.

Place your finger on the O and slowly follow the loop path.

Students can breathe in as they trace up and around the first loops, then breathe out as they continue along the path. The goal is not perfection, it is slow, steady breathing and gentle focus.

Repeat the path a few times, moving calmly and noticing each loop. The tactile design gives students a simple, hands on way to pause, regulate, and reset.

For younger students, an adult can guide the rhythm by saying:

Trace slowly. Breathe in. Keep tracing. Breathe out. Reset.
