Design and Functionality Details
The end of the arch features a small hook or slot to secure the tea bag string. The base is designed to be stable and catch any accidental drips. The two-piece design not only facilitates printing but also solves logistical challenges. The aesthetic is minimalist and modern, perfect for a clean and tidy look.
Print Instructions (Crucial)
- Orientation: This is key. The arch should not be printed vertically at 250mm. Print it flat on the build plate. If you have a printer with limited print volume (like the A1), rotate the arch horizontally (XY plane) or on its side to fit it within the volume. I have included a "profile" print file with the optimal orientation to reduce supports and make it fit.
- Recommended Material: PLA (for aesthetic colors like the bronze/marble shown in the image) or PETG (for greater strength, if desired).
- Infill: 30% for the base, 30% for the arch for robustness.
- Layer Height: 0.2mm or lower for a smooth surface finish.
- Tolerances: The interlocking mechanism is designed with standard tolerances, but ensure your extrusion flow is calibrated for a perfect fit.
Assembly Instructions
- Align the male pin of the arch with the female hole in the base.
- Press firmly until you hear a "click" or feel a firm insertion. No glue is necessary.
