Since my Elring crankshaft seal for the front of the engine came without an installation aid, and I consequently destroyed the first seal, and there's hardly anything available or only overpriced, I designed an installation aid for the oil seal.

The seal is placed the right way around on the installation aid, then the aid is inserted into the crankshaft, and the seal is carefully and evenly tapped in with the second part, the driver, and a plastic or rubber hammer.

It worked excellently for me.

Fits the first generation M57 engines in BMW E39 325d (163hp) and 330d (193hp), Opel Omega B 2.5Dti with the same engine, BMW E46 330d, E38 730d, E53 X5 3.0d.

Unfortunately, I don't know if the 4-cylinder crankshaft flanges of the same generation or the Tü/Tü2 M57 are the same.

Attention! These seals are made of PTFE and must be installed oil-free!
